Show Blacks
Show Blacks is a conceptual fashion brand I developed for creatives, performers, and professionals who value comfort, functionality, and style. The visual identity draws inspiration from 1990s grunge posters and the raw, gritty edge of contemporary brutalist design. My goal was to merge these bold aesthetics with market-ready appeal to create a brand that speaks to both designers and regular everyday consumers.
Show Black Logo Process
The goal behind Show Blacks was to design a logo that would be instantly recognizable with creatives and the performing arts community. After exploring multiple iterations, I landed on the director’s chair as the strongest symbol as it represents leadership, authority, and taking control of the stage.
Instagram Carousels
I designed instagram carousels to create a sense of interactivity with the audience that featured fictional customer testimonials, a collaboration announcement, and shareable tips that users could repost to their stories, all while reinforcing the Show Blacks brand identity.
Instagram Highlights and Icons
The Instagram highlights were intentionally designed to double as icons or visual elements for use across a website. I created an effect using a mixture of noise, dithering and various Photoshop filters in order to be able to easily recreate the effect on different images.

Billboard Advertisement
This billboard design was created to evoke a sense of flow, movement, and dance in order to draw the viewer’s attention entirely to the dancer.
Storefront Banner
I incorporated futuristic inspired elements like digital lines and numeric patterns into the design of the dancer’s pants, repeating those same visuals throughout the banner for a cohesive cyberpunk aesthetic.
Digital Display
While creating this digital display advertisement, I aimed to design something that diverged from the typical photographed model driven imagery found in modern ads. Drawing inspiration from Art Deco graphic designers such as AM Cassandre and Aaron Douglas, I incorporated halftone-edited images layered over bold, geometric shapes to ensure the design catches the eye from far away, giving a more retro feel to them.
